Grade 2 Welcome Letter and Supply List

Welcome to Second Grade! It is our hope that we can work together to make this year the best one ever! Here is some information that will support your child’s academic career at Sidener Academy.

Home Connection Folder– Important communications and graded work may be included for your review. Please refer to the grade level newsletter for specific information about school events. The newsletter will be sent out weekly.

Daily Assignments/Homework– Students are responsible for their daily assignments. Any work not completed at school is expected to be finished at home and turned in on time. Some assignments may include projects that would require additional time spent outside of class. There are no daily homework assignments.

The following supplies will be needed for Second Grade:

• 3 two-pocket folders- 1 yellow, 1 blue, 1 green
• 3 wide-ruled composition notebooks
• 1 pair of 5” scissors
• 2 packages of bold tip markers- 8 count
• 2 boxes of 24 count crayons
• 2 packages of colored pencils
• 2 packages of black dry erase markers- 8 markers at least
• 6 pink rubber erasers
• 3 boxes of pencils (pre-sharpened if possible)
• 1 package of 3×5 index cards
• Post-it Notes
• 1 supply box
• 12 glue sticks
• 1 microfiber cloth (used for dry erase board)
• 2 boxes of tissues
• 2 containers of Clorox wipes
• 1 box of Ziploc bags (gallon or sandwich size)
• 1 pair of wired headphones/earbuds (no Bluetooth)
